Mugabe Wins and Oil Blinds America.

Morgan Tsvangirai retreated from the run off election in Zimbabwe today. This is horrible. Africa is already one of the most politically upset areas in the world and many saw hope in this election; a free democratic example of progress. Yet because of the violence caused by the ruling regime against the oppositions supporters and the loss of life thereof; Morgan had no other choice. Now to be completely honest no one knows if the previous candidate would have improved the country any, but the election did hold promise that things were changing. Now how many of us in America even care about this. I would not be surprised that if many of us would say anything more than "Oh, that's to bad." We are becoming so obsessed with the "Oil Crisis" that little else matters. I doubt seriously that many of us are starving because of four dollar gas. If anything I believe this is the "kick to tha rear" we need. The United States has fallen from being a symbol of the free world to the rich fat kid that cares about nothing else than itself. To tie all of this together I think.... scratch that.... I know it is time for a change and it might just take a hit home to wake us up.
